Hi, I’m Steph, welcome to my website!
My journey into yoga began nine years ago when I took my first yoga class for stress relief. As I attended more yoga classes, I discovered the healing power of yoga for the body, mind and soul. The practise of yoga sparked a fire within me to find out my true potential and how to live my life’s purpose to serve others.
I took a sabbatical from teaching and delved deeper into the world of yoga and meditation by:
– completing 95 hours Kids Yoga Teacher Training in New Orleans, USA (July 2015) with Young Yoga Masters
-completing 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training (specializing in Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga) in Tairua, New Zealand (February 2016) with Yogacara Global
-studying and practising meditation and mindfulness under the guidance of a Qigong, Zen and Tibetan Buddhist Master of Mindful Taipei in Taipei, Taiwan
Upon returning to Canada, I began integrating yoga, mindfulness and meditation into my classroom, and teaching yoga classes for kids, preteens, teens and adults in a variety of settings and events (e.g. yoga studio, community centre, elementary and secondary schools, daycare summer camps, wellness evenings and a wellness retreat for youth in Blue Mountain). I am happy that I can combine my love of teaching and love of yoga as one.
In the past two years, I’ve been focusing on my own mental health and well-being through daily mindfulness practices, and attending mindfulness retreats.
During this period, I’ve completed:
-SmartEducation (Stress Management and Resiliency Techniques for Educators & Helping Professionals, May 2019) with UBC Faculty of Education
-Mental Health First Aid Adults Who Interact with Youth Course (October 2019) with Mental Health Commission of Canada
-Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification (March 2020) with Mindfulness Exercises Institute
My dream is to inspire, empower and encourage my students, our future generation of children and teens, to realize their own potential. And to help them live a joyful, healthy and purposeful life through yoga!
